The Maritime Broker or Yacht/Ship Broker is a professional duly registered with the Chamber of Commerce business registry (a quite different figure from the dealer/distributor/representative) who, Operating in a condition of absolute impartiality and third party status, promotes a negotiation between the parties during the stages of buying, selling and chartering of a boat or vessel in the Recreational or Merchant sphere. The Maritime Mediator must observe confidentiality towards third parties (observance of professional secrecy stipulated inArticle 1759 of the Civil Code), unrelated to the negotiation while he/she must provide maximum information to the parties involved in negotiation. The Yacht Broker is technically trained in the knowledge of each part of the vessel or ship dealt with in fact ensuring its state of use.
